First of all, what’s this ‘Incorporating Wright’s Aerials’ all about?
Albert Wright started installing aerials in the early 1950s. His son Bill took over the business in the early 1970s using the name ‘Wright’s Aerials’. When Bill’s son Paul entered the trade it was easier, for administrative reasons, if he had an independent business, so ‘Don Valley Aerials’ appeared in the 1990s, and for a good while the two businesses traded side by side, independently but in close co-operation. Bill eventually went into semi-retirement and passed control of Wright’s Aerials to Paul. Gradually the focus switched to Don Valley Aerials so Wright’s Aerials is now ‘sleeping’. Bill can’t seem to rest though, and still takes an active part in the work of Don Valley Aerials. We don’t know what Paul’s son Oscar will call his business, but he’s only nine so there’s plenty of time to decide (actually we think he’s going to be a top scientist or Prime Minister.)
So there you have it. It’s a long-established family business. We’ve survived so long because we have top class technical expertise and we believe in fair dealing.
Why do we still just have ‘aerials’ in the company name, when we do so much more? Dunno really, except that ‘Don Valley aerials, satellite, CCTV, and all sorts of other stuff’ would be a bit of a mouthful.
Oh yes, and what’s that 
peculiar logo meant to mean? Well, it’s a rather fancy version of the lower case Greek letter lambda. And why did we choose that? Well, to an antenna engineer lambda denotes wavelength, and so is the starting point for just about every calculation to do with the reception and transmission of radio waves and the design of aerials. For instance the basic relationship between frequency and wavelength is 
where c = the speed of light. Essentially, if you’re designing an aerial for a certain frequency that formula tells you how long to make each element and how far apart they should be.

Albert sadly passed away in 2016, aged 97. He remained active almost to the end. Here you see him building a TV system head-end.
